Our first time to visit and we stopped by for breakfast. The food was very good! One of those places that you can tell has been around a long time, the staff was friendly and you could tell when a regular came in. The atmosphere was exactly what I love about small town cafe’s. People, food and memories… Highly recommend. We are going to come back again for their lunch menu!

Very friendly servers. Chips and salsa and green sauce served was delightful. Pot roast was tender and tasted great. Definitely a place to bring everyone, you can choose Mexican or American foods.

Mama’s is an all-inclusive Mexican-American restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner around the clock. Located within walking distance of Tyler Junior College, it has the feel of a true neighborhood staple. In every sense of the phrase, it is a classic hole-in-the-wall spot—small, busy, and clearly well known by locals. My good friend Ricklan Holmes recommended this place to me, and he is usually spot on with his suggestions. This time, however, the experience was a little underwhelming. The biscuits were the highlight of the meal—served hot, soft, and fresh. Unfortunately, the rest of the breakfast did not quite meet the same standard. The bacon appeared to be a lower-end thin cut and lacked the crispness I prefer. The sausage was greasy, and the eggs were overcooked even though I requested them over medium. The sausage gravy was also a disappointment, as it was overly salty and lacked any noticeable meat. There was a bit of a wait to be seated, which usually signals a popular restaurant, but the service moved somewhat slowly once seated. Parking is available, though space is limited and can be a challenge during busier times. The atmosphere is simple and straightforward—

The wife and I always try to find new places to eat when we travel outside of Longview. Well we found a gem in Tyler on 5th St. It's called Momma's Restaurant and it is a real gem. Great food, Great service and Great prices. You can even pick up a free wooden cross out front as you leave. If you are ever in Tyler check it out. .

I had the El Mixacano Omelet, and it was hands down one of the best omelets I’ve had. It’s loaded with jalapeños, onions, chorizo, and refried beans, all topped with a spicy ranchero sauce and melted cheddar cheese. What really sets it off is the perfectly cooked steak laid right across the top—juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right. For $11.79, you absolutely can’t beat the price or the flavor. The portion is huge—definitely not a small plate—and every bite is packed with flavor. On top of that, the service was top-notch. I’ll definitely be coming back for this one.
